Lactoferrin may treat stress-induced IBSVitamin D and lactoferrin attenuate stress-induced colitis in Wistar rats via enhancing AMPK expression with inhibiting mTOR-STAT3 signaling and modulating autophagy.
Relevant but includes vitamin D
We explored how lactoferrin might alleviate symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) by examining its effects on stress-induced colitis in Wistar rats. In our study, we used a chronic wrap-restraint stress model to simulate the psychological stress that contributes to IBS.
The rats were divided into four groups: naïve rats, those subjected to stress, and two groups that received either vitamin D or lactoferrin. Our findings indicated that both lactoferrin and vitamin D improved various health markers compared to the stressed rats. Notably, lactoferrin treatment resulted in enhanced social behavior, increased levels of beneficial interleukin-10, and improved autophagy in the colon.
Furthermore, lactoferrin demonstrated a remarkable ability to decrease inflammatory markers and stress levels, suggesting it may modulate the body’s response to the inflammation linked with IBS. The results indicate that lactoferrin could be more effective than vitamin D for treating stress-induced colitis, making it a promising nutritional supplement for those struggling with IBS.

As a result, I developed gastrointestinal issues including irritable bowel syndrome. After taking probiotics and consulting doctors, I started this supplement, taking one capsule daily for a month alongside a probiotic. I was pleasantly surprised by the results: stomach anxiety and bloating disappeared. Now, I always keep this supplement on hand.

This supplement is excellent. After taking it with mastic gum, my stomach felt comfortable and my bowel movements became regular. For anyone struggling with bowel issues, I recommend taking lactoferrin, mastic gum, and butyrate on an empty stomach.
I learned that lactoferrin helps regulate endometrial flora and may boost fertility, so I started taking it. Although I haven't noticed fertility improvements yet, my bowel movements have increased significantly, from once a day to 2-3 times.
I ordered this after seeing positive reviews for irritable bowel syndrome, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms. I will be reordering this supplement.
